The Foundry Arts Space (the Foundry) is a not-for-profi t volunteer run community organisation established in 2010 to raise the profi le of the arts and cultural activities in our region.
Established in 2010, we have been in the heart of the historic Port of Echuca precinct since 2015.
The Foundry welcomes artists, musicians, and all creatives to share this historic but contemporary building. The Foundry attracts over 10,000 visitors a year.
The 4 week hire rates, which include 4 days bump in , are as follows;
Gallery 1 - $600, (approx. ⅔ of the total exhibition space).
Gallery 2 - $300 (approx. ⅓ of total exhibition space).
All hire rates include a $150.00 non-refundable administration fee.
Chargeable workshops run by the exhibitor in association with the exhibition may be subject to a separate hire rate negotiated on the duration, scope and requirements.
The Foundry charges 25% commission on all artworks sold.
Prices should include the 25% commission.
The balance of sales will be paid to the artist within four weeks of the conclusion of their exhibition.
Discounting artwork during an exhibition is not permitted, unless agreed
to by both parties.
If sales are made by the artist due to exposure at The Foundry, within 2 months of the exhibition closure, we would appreciate receiving the 25% commission.
The Foundry Arts Space curatorial team will install the exhibition. Bump in time for all exhibitions is the Monday prior to
exhibition opening, at 10am or by negotiation.
All works are to be delivered clean and undamaged: clearly labelled with the artists name, title, medium, and price; ready to hang with D hooks to suit our Foundry hanging system.
Any other methods of display are to be agreed upon before delivery of artworks and should be discussed when booking the venue to ensure we are able to accommodate your requirements. Handling methods should accompany all delicate or heavy items.
Exhibitors are required to remove all artworks from The Foundry between 4pm and 5pm on the last day of their exhibition or by negotiation.
Whilst the Foundry and its volunteers will make every effort to safeguard your artworks, the artworks are not insured by us whilst in transit or on exhibition at the Foundry.
Insurance if required is the responsibility of the artist.
The hirer is required to be present at the exhibition for at least one full day per week. Our sales records show that art sales are increased when the artist is in attendance.
The Foundry is manned by volunteers, at all other times, subject to availability.
The Foundry Exhibition Team reserves the right to exclude works from the exhibition if they are in a damaged or unclean state. Works previously exhibited at the Foundry will not be accepted.
Opening events are held on a Friday evening at 6pm until 8pm (unless otherwise agreed). The Foundry will provide catering for up to 25 max.
The name of your guest speaker, anticipated numbers, and VIP’s that may be attending the event, is required 1 week prior to exhibition opening.
Exhibitors will be provided with electronic copies of all marketing material prior to the event.
We allow artwork to be photographed for marketing purposes and by the general public. If you would prefer your artworks not to be photographed, please notify us in writing and the necessary signage will be provided. Please be aware that this can be difficult to enforce.
Artists proposing to undertake workshops associated with their exhibition must undertake a risk management plan for their workshop activities. The exhibition team will assist with this.
In addition to the Foundry hanging system and lighting the Foundry Arts Space has available for exhibitors the following resources for use in the exhibition or presentation:
